Meet Nick Jardine

Rooted in movement, mindfulness, and the healing power of breath, Nick Jardine is the creator of Punawai Breathing and Stretching—a practice designed to bring the body and mind into presence through long, diaphragmatic breaths and intentional stretching. Punawai, meaning “spring” or “fountain” in Hawaiian, speaks to the well of calm and clarity that exists within each of us when we reconnect with the flow of our breath. Nick's journey began at the age of 15 as a member of a professional hip hop dance team competing along the east coast of the US. He eventually expanded into modern, lyrical, jazz, and contemporary through a high school dance program. By 16, Nick was instructing, with a natural gift for choreography and expression. His love of movement continued into college ballet courses and deepened over time through teaching and personal exploration. After moving to Oʻahu in 2019, Nick immersed himself in yoga, particularly drawn to the breath-driven flow of vinyasa. Merging the grounding breath work of yoga with the dance stretching warm-ups developed over years of instructing, Punawai Breathing and Stretching was born: a practice to create presence, reduce stress and anxiety, and quiet the mind particularly for those navigating ADHD tendencies like Nick. At its heart, Punawai is about accessibility, not perfection. It’s a foundation to build from regardless of flexibility, background, or “skill” level. Nick shares this class with the intention of offering others the same sense of calm, focus, and inner connection that has shaped his own healing path.
